About the Role
The Program Lead Family and ChildrensCounselling oversees daily operations of the Family and Childrens CounsellingTeam providing strategic leadership and supervision. In collaboration with theFYCS Manager they ensure program goals and deliverables are met. With a strengthbasedantioppressive feministinformed approach the Lead fosters excellence inservice delivery and employee engagement.
The Program Lead reports to the Manager FamilyYouth and Childrens Services.
What Youll Do
- Lead the Counselling Team implementing policiesand fostering a shared vision.
- Establish effective communication within theteam.
- Provide direct services as needed includingintake brief services and supervised visitation.
- Cover active client cases during staffabsences.
- Collaborate with the FYCS Manager and People and Culture team on recruitment training supervision and performance management.
- Ensure service delivery aligns with agencypolicies contracts and compliance requirements.
- Oversee timely entry of client files reports andstatistics.
- Work with leadership to develop standardsaccountability mechanisms and evaluation processes.
- Ensure CARF accreditation compliance throughreports audits and evaluations.
- Assist in preparing and managing programbudgets.
- Adhere to safety protocols and work safestandards.
- Maintain strong relationships with programstakeholders and community partners.
- Facilitate case management peer supervision riskassessment and professional development.
- Stay informed about SCCSS programs to enhancecollaboration.
- Support funding proposals and identify new fundingopportunities.
What You Bring
- Postsecondary degree in Social Work ClinicalCounselling Psychology or a related field.
- Minimum of two years experience in programdelivery with families and youth and a strong understanding of relevant issuesand client populations.
- Program management experience with demonstratedleadership and supervisory skills.
- Knowledge of Local Provincial and Federallegislation and regulations relevant to the role.
- Proficient in financial systems includingmaintaining balanced budgets and expenditures.
- Proven ability to foster strong teamrelationships.
- Competent computer skills including managingonline databases Microsoft Office and virtual platforms like MS Teams.
- Experience working respectfully andnonjudgmentally with clients from diverse cultures ethnicities andsocioeconomic backgrounds.
- Understanding of the impacts of colonization andresidential schools on Indigenous peoples.
- Knowledge of violence dynamics affectingmarginalized individuals.
- Experience with nonviolent crisis interventionparticularly with those facing mental health challenges.
- Ability to apply an antioppressive lens andfeminist analysis to issues of gender violence affecting children women andtrans individuals.
- Traumainformed approach to practice.
- Strong communication organization and conflictresolution skills with the ability to prioritize and act on key issues.
- Collaborative approach across programs and withcommunity partners.
- Nonprofit sector experience is an asset.
