Job Summary
PLANNING: Performs advanced professional urban planning serving as the design specialist and expert for the City Planning Division. Serves as a senior nonsupervisory professional and technical person within a functional planning section for activities and operations involving urban design land development growth management historic preservation economic development housing and neighborhood involvement. Manages coordinates and participates in the preparation and production of plans graphics code amendments and projects addressing the economic social and physical needs of the city. Projects include feasibility studies for City initiated projects site design studies and 3D model exhibits. Manages coordinates and participates in the production of templates infographics dashboards brochures posters interactive media maps and other data visualization and communication tools that engage internal and external stakeholders. Work is performed under the general supervision of the City Planning Division Manager or Chief Planner and performance is reviewed through conferences and results obtained .
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelors Degree in Public Administration Urban Planning Architecture or related field and six 6 years urban planning or related experience; or Bachelors Degree in any field and AICP certification and six 6 years urban planning or related experience; or an equivalent combination of education training and experience. Valid Florida Drivers License required by time of hire. Masters Degree in related field and four 4 years urban planning or related experience desired. Experience with CAD GIS SketchUp Photoshop Illustrator or comparable design software preferred. AIA ASLA or AICP Certification preferred.

- Two 2 years of direct experience for an associate degree;
- Four 4 years of direct experience for a bachelors degree;
- Six 6 years of direct experience for a masters degree; or
- Nine 9 years of direct experience for a doctoral degree.
