We are seeking an Underground Laborer to join our team in Mount Vernon WA. In this role you will install and maintain aerial and underground telecommunications cabling and support aerial construction as required.

The Role

  • Complete all startofday and endofday tasks assigned for coworker safety and preparation and care of equipment and vehicles. Examples: PPE reminders vehicle fluids tire safety tool inspections
  • Review and understand daily work plan goals and requirements by active participation in pretask and posttask team meetings including reviews of safe work practices work orders job prints and job notes
  • Complete assigned physical labor tasks involving manual work and operation of hand and power tools moving materials with good housekeeping to all job sites vehicles and equipment
  • Assist enable and otherwise help complete job requirements such as assisting equipment operators and/or the foreman with loading unloading or positioning equipment shoring or bracing placing underground utilities or placing or removing asphalt or concrete
  • Lifting carrying and holding materials supplies tools and equipment
  • Hand digging and assisting with excavation filling backfilling and cleaning and preparing sites including cleanup and debris removal
  • Other duties as assigned
Requirements
  • 1 year(s) of underground telecommunications construction experience required
  • Working knowledge of relevant equipment policies procedures and strategies to promote effective local OSHA and operating safety standards
  • Working knowledge of construction trenching missiling placing of duct CIC coax fiber pedestals and vaults
  • Ability to safely operate various types of utility vehicles and equipment
  • High level of energy motivation and attention to detail
  • Ability to multitask shifting from one task to another without interruption
  • Continuous support of the mission vision ethics and values of TAK Communications
  • Ability to work outside of business hours when needed; overtime holidays evenings weekends etc. in all seasons
  • Ability to work with a noise level from moderate to loud
  • Ability to carry climb operate and work upon an extension ladder (approximately 28 feet high and 75 pounds) ability to climb poles or other structures as needed
  • Ability to complete work outdoors in tight spaces or elevated by bending reaching twisting climbing and working while standing up to 70 of the time yearround in all weather conditions
  • Ability to occasionally work near moving mechanical parts electricity and/or powerlines risk of exposure to electrical shock radiation vibration
  • Ability to safely work and navigate various terrains managing equipment safety equipment and tools
  • Must have current CDL with FedMed card and able to provide upon offer
  • Must provide a valid governmentissued photo ID for verification; a drivers license is required if the role involves driving
  • Passing of all preemployment requirements (MVR Background Check Drug Screen)
