Job Description
Masters degree in Literacy Studies Literacy Reading or another related field with certification as NYS Literacy Specialist grades birth6 and/or grades 512 required. Minimum 13 years of related experience. Candidates with other related certifications with relevant experience may be considered. Experience with formal and informal reading and writing assessments. Demonstrated ability to teach reading and writing and experience with developing a reading and writing workshop. Commitment to working with a diverse population. Collaborative organized and detail oriented. Successful candidates will have demonstrated a commitment to promoting equity diversity and inclusion in an educational environment.
Preferred Qualifications
One or more years experience working with students with reading and writing difficulties is preferred. Demonstrated experience with miscue analysis.
