Budget Analyst

US Citizenship Required
Remote or Hybrid (Silver Spring Maryland)

@Orchard LLC has a contract requirement for a Budget Analyst to support the NOAA Fisheries Office of Sustainable Fisheries (OSF). The role provides support to the Operations and Regulatory Services Division of OSF. This is a longterm contract opportunity working for @Orchard an EDWOSB 8(a) Federal Contractor we offer generous pay and benefits as well as opportunities for professional development and career growth.

As the Budget Analyst you will demonstrate the ability to manage short project timelines while maintaining attention to detail. This is a solutionsoriented role requiring strong research and innate curiosity to uncover ways to achieve results quickly but in a compliant fashion. Because this role will be remote or hybrid intentionality around maintaining reporting and communication with colleagues and clients is essential.

Budget Analyst Responsibilities include
  • Routinely run reports (budget acquisition labor and travel) in the NOAA financial system to determine if financial resources are used appropriately to implement programs.
  • Maintain and create online budget tracking sheets toallow Budget Analysts and OSF Leadership to assess how well the annual budget is being executed.
  • Collaborate with other Budget Analysts to provide recommendations for improved business processes.
Your background will include the following
  • Must be a US Citizen able to pass a federal background check.
  • Bachelors degree or commensurate directly relevant experience.
  • Demonstrated experience with and understanding of the Federal Budget Process and Appropriations Law.
  • Comfortable navigating financial systems and adapting to changing / business processes.
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel Google Sheets and other spreadsheet programs.
  • Experience working collaboratively with a team in a remote work environment to ensure proper communication regarding deadlines and project directives.
  • Demonstrated ability to work under tight deadlines and scheduled action dates without compromising work quality.
  • Excellent organizational analytical written and verbal communication skills.
