Job Summary/ Objective:
Under the direction of the Recreation Supervisor Beach Manager and Head Lifeguard the Lifeguard provides supervision of water beach beach areas and assists the Head Lifeguard in the operation of beach areas.

Remote Work:
This position is not eligible for remote work. All County staff must maintain residence within the Commonwealth of Virginia.

Salary:
$16.50 for new lifeguards
$17.00 for returning second year lifeguard.
$17.50 for returning third or more years lifeguard.
This is a part time temporary FLSA nonexempt position. Internal candidates will receive pay adjustments in accordance with Local Government Personnel Policy P60.
SignOn Incentive:
You will receive a $250.00 signon incentive if you are onboarded and work at least one 1 day by June 9th. This will be paid on the following paycheck after June 9th.
You will receive another $250.00 if you work an average of 30 hours a week for 5 out of 9 open swim season weeks. This will be paid on the following paycheck after Labor Day.
