Final Assembler

Job Category: Assembly

Reporting Structure: Reports to Production Supervisor with no direct reports

Brief Description

A Final Assembler performs parts and material installation and assembly tasks per written and verbal work instructions.


Responsibilities

  • Performs installations and assembles parts according to special written work instructions routings blueprints and verbal directives.
  • Cleans assembles disassembles and replaces parts as required.
  • Maintains a clean and safe working environment and optimizes space utilization.
  • Communicates and cooperates with supervisors and coworkers.
  • Operates and maintains shop equipment.
  • Follows quality service standards and complies with procedures rules and regulations.
  • Keeps production supervisor advised of work status workload problems and progress as related to work assignments.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • One year of related experience.
  • Must have experience in the interior and exterior trim installation on trucks buses or automobiles.
  • Manufacturing and/or automotive experience preferred.
  • Willingness to travel if required.
  • Must be able to pass a preemployment drug screening.

Physical Requirements

  • Prolonged periods of standing.
  • Required to walk reach with hands and arms stoop kneel crouch climb and crawl.
  • Regularly lift and move up to 10 lbs.; frequently lift and move up to 30 lbs.; occasionally lift and move up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to see and adjust visual focus both upclose and at a distance; position requires peripheral vision depth perception and ability to see and distinguish colors.
  • Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of the job.

Work Environment

  • Exposure to highlevels of noise.
  • Machinery operation requires the use of safety equipment to include but not limited to: eye safety glasses hearing protection work boots and hardhats.
  • Loose fitting clothes and jewelry are not permitted.
  • Position may operate a motor vehicle and may work outdoors.

Education & Training:

Qualified candidates for the West Virginia position will receive on the job training and will be required to attend education and training classes at BridgeValley Community & Technical College.


Compensation and Benefits:

Compensation for this position will be in the range of $18 TO $20 per hour. Qualified candidates will generally work a 40hour work week working four 10hour shifts.
