Job Description

Radiology Care Technician

Work location: Texas Health Center for Diagnostics and Surgery 6020 West Parker Road Plano Texas 75093
Work hours: Part Time 16 Hours; 2 days a week varying schedule

Heres What You Need
High School Diploma or equivalent required
Associates Degree in Health Information or Health related field preferred
CMRT Certified Medical Radiologic Technologist preferred upon hire required or
ARRT American Registry of Radiologic Technologists preferred upon hire required or
LMRT Limited Medical Radiologic Technologist preferred upon hire required or
NCT NonCertified Radiology Technician preferred upon hire required or
CNA Certified Nurse Aide upon hire required or
MT Emergency Medical Technician upon hire required or
BCLS Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly upon hire required

What You Will Do
Prepares room for examination (i.e. suction oxygen supplies) to ensure radiology suite is in working order and ready to use to reduce patient risk.
Reviews physician orders and exam requisitions to ensure the continuity of patient care
Obtains patient history and determines appropriateness of exam in consultation/collaboration with radiologic technologist.
Operates cares for and maintains relevant equipment to provide proper utilization.Assist radiologist with complex and invasive procedures using aseptic technique
Troubleshoots and properly documents equipment malfunction to ensure timely repairs and patient safety.
Maintains equipment and room to sanitary standards to maintain a safe environment and follow infection control standards.
Greets and acknowledges patient using two forms of ID to identify correct patient and exam by checking DOB and ID number; verifing accuracy of exam and relevant clinical information.
Appropriately handles patients with IVs oxygen chest tubes or other devices.
