DESCRIPTION OF WORK
As an Insurance Market Conduct Examiner 1 you will be responsible for reviewinginsurance companies files and electronic records such as policy forms claims consumer complaints underwriting and rating practices marketing and sales materials policyholder services information and more to determine compliance with complex Pennsylvania and federal statutes and regulations including Pennsylvania benefit mandate statutes the Affordable Care Act (ACA) and the Paul Wellstone and Pete Domenici Mental Health Parity and Addiction Equity Act of 2008 (MHPAEA). You will also assist in creating the examination data call in addition to preparing interview questions and conducting interviews of insurance company representatives to learn about company practices.
This professional also assists in the development of tools to assess compliance with MHPAEA requirements and conducts analysis to determine compliance with established requirements. You will identify violations of statutes and regulations and prepare written reports to communicate results of market conduct projects to companies. Excellent communication skills are essential as you may be required to testify at administrative hearings to support findings of projects as necessary.Interested in learning more Additional details regarding this position can be found in theposition description.
Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Fulltime employment
- Work hours are 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM Monday Friday with a 60minute lunch.
- Telework:You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) parttime. In order to telework you must have a securely configured highspeed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg.
- Salary:Selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $58035.00(before taxes).

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Successful completion of the Insurance Market Conduct Examiner Trainee training program; or
- One year of professional experience in insurance market conduct examinations insurance company financial examinations insurance investigations insurance financial analysis insurance underwriting insurance policy review and analysis insurance claims administration or insurance sales and a bachelors degree;or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training.
