Essential Functions:
Maintain the general ledger.
Prepare periodic (monthly) invoices to the state and other business partners for services provided.
Review coding for invoices and make necessary corrections set up new accounts reconcile accounts and close the monthly books.
Reconcile bank accounts at least monthly verify deposits and address inquiries from banks.
Maintain the asset subledger including constructioninprogress assets and depreciation.
Provide assistance to outside auditors; gather necessary account information and documents to facilitate the annual audit.
File required grant paperwork with federal state and local government agencies.
Act as a backup to the payroll department.
Coordinate with software vendors as appropriate to maintain accounting software systems; recommend updates to enhance the software.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance or a related field.
Experience: At least one year of accounting experience. Experience in nonprofit education or public accounting preferred.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite accounting software and Gmail.
Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
Strong analytical and problem solvingsolving skills.
Effective communication and collaboration skills.
Demonstrated sensitivity to maintaining confidential information.
