Position Summary:
It is the responsibility of the Project Engineer to support the Project Manager and field staff in technical tasks associated with projects. This internship can be based out of our Eugene or Grants Pass office!
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist project setup (administrative tasks preconstruction meetings etc.
- Study understand and administer documentation changes to construction documents.
- Study understand and administer material product and equipment information performance standards and technical requirements to facilitate construction.
- Create and maintain CPM project schedules.
- Assist in the preparation and administration of QA/QC requirements including submittals and shop drawings.
- Produce information required for field crews (production) to work efficiently and set benchmarks for success.
- Interpret construction documents and resolve ambiguities or missing information (i.e. RFI) so projects are free of impedance and remain highly productive.
- Research and recommend resolutions to problems conflicts interference and errors in construction documents or other information.
- Prepare drawings and sketches to facilitate trade coordination resolve conflicts and ensure highly productive progression of field crew work.
- Assist with procurement administration contracting expediting and delivery/acceptance of materials orders.
- Assist with procurement administration and contracting of specialty contractors.
- Be responsible for all aspects of project information and electronic data required.
- Create meeting agendas and minutes as required by PM. Attend meetings and keep minutes.
- Perform takeoff and light estimating tasks assigned by PM.
- Prepare change orders.
- Lead project closeout tasks assigned (i.e. punch list operation & maintenance manuals warranty compliment final contract billing/payment applications).
- Assist PM with various project controls as necessary.
Knowledge Skills & Abilities Required:
- Thrive in a fastpaced intellectually challenging team environment.
- Proficiency with typical industry software such as: Procore Primavera Microsoft Suite
- Ability to type/key a minimum of thirty 30 words per minute.
- Proficiency in written and verbal communication.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and move up to 45 lbs.
- Sitting (or driving) in a normal seated position for extended periods of time.
- Reaching by extending hand(s) or arm(s) in any direction.
- Finger dexterity required to manipulate objects with fingers rather than with whole hand(s) or arm(s) i.e.: using a keyboard.
- Ability to see within normal parameters.
- Ability to hear within normal range.
- Ability to move about a construction site including but not limited to: climbing ladders and scaffold and walk over uneven terrain.
