Position Summary

Students engage in classes of the same rigor and academic experiences as any student at IU but on a smaller more closeknit campus. ADMINISTRATIVE APPOINTMENT IU Columbus is seeking exceptional candidates for the position of Assistant Dean of Nursing. This appointment is available August 1 2024. This role is responsible for providing operational leadership to the IU School of Nursing at IU Columbus: faculty staff and students. The Assistant Dean is responsible for supporting the Indiana University School of Nursing IUSON in the administration teaching and scholarship activities relevant to the campus. The Assistant Dean reports to and is accountable to the Associate Dean and/or Executive Associate Dean for Academic Affairs. The Assistant Dean participates in faculty governance as recommended by IUSON Bylaws. The Assistant Dean will collaborate with the Assistant Dean for PreLicensure Programs and other faculty governance committees as appropriate and collaborate with campus level full and parttime faculty teaching courses in the undergraduate program undergraduate clinical preceptors student services and advising and external constituencies to ensure excellence in pre licensure didactic and clinical experiences and student outcomes. Functions of this role include personal teaching and scholarship community partnerships IU Columbus faculty leadership IU Columbus Campus Administration and IUSON Administration.
