To practice as a member of and supervise other members the outpatient Oncology Nutrition team responsible for the provision of medical nutrition therapy for adult patients in all phases of oncology care including prevention diagnosis and active treatment survivorship and endoflife care. To perform supervisory duties including but not limited to staff and program development and oversight interviewing training/coaching disciplining and evaluating of employees develop and implement quality improvement activities and services related to Oncology Nutrition and assist the manager in ensuring compliance with all regulatory standards and internal policies and procedures. To develop implement and monitor nutrition interventions to achieve medical nutrition therapy goals and desired outcomes provide nutrition education and counseling and document all nutrition intervention in the medical record. To precept dietetic interns participate in quality improvement activities and participate in multidisciplinary team activities and medical rounds.
Masters degree in nutrition or dietetics and two 2 years oncology nutrition and/or supportive care experience required. Must obtain Certified Specialist in Oncology (CSO) within 2 years of hire. Currently licensed as a Registered Dietitian (RD) by the Alabama State Board of Examiners for Dietetics (BOED) required.
