ORGANIZATION OVERVIEW:
Lorain County Health & Dentistry (LCH&D) is a private nonprofit charitable organization dedicated to delivering the highest quality primary and preventive health care to underserved persons of all ages throughout Lorain County OH and beyond. Founded in 2002 LCH&D first operated as a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) LookAlike until designated by the federal Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) as a funded FQHC in early 2009.
The largest safetynet provider in Lorain County LCH&D operates six community health centers in Lorain Elyria Oberlin and North Ridgeville and provides adult/family medicine pediatrics general and specialty dentistry podiatry optometry pharmacy and integrated behavioral health including Medication for Opioid Use Disorder. A focused vision solid mission effective strategic planning excellent leadership and management teamwork and perseverance have enabled LCH&D to grow significantly over the years. As a result LCH&D is a wellknown and respected organization locally and at the state and federal levels.
Since its founding LCH&D has provided over one million doctor and dentist visits. In 2023 LCH&D treated 18575 Unduplicated Patients in 63222 medical and dental visits. Quality is highly valued at LCH&D and the health center is dedicated to providing the best clinical care and customer service possible. Today LCH&D places in the Top 10 for best overall clinical quality measure performance among all health centers nationwide. As such HRSA recently awarded LCH&D the coveted 2024 Health Center Quality Leader Gold Badge. In addition to providing excellent clinical care the organization is well positioned both operationally and financially.
RESPONSIBILITIES
The Director of Behavioral Health at Lorain County Health & Dentistry (LCH&D) is responsible for all aspects of Behavioral Health (BH) services at LCH&D including health coaching substance use/abuse coordination and treatment screening evaluation treatment intervention counseling and therapy and referral to ongoing care. The Director of Behavioral Health supervises members of the BH team assures their competence and skill and holds them accountable to achieve established departmental and organizational goals. Reporting to the CEO and working with the clinical team the Director of Behavioral Health coordinates and oversees Behavioral Health services in order to ensure that they are accessible of high quality appropriate to community need and compliant with funder expectations as well as state and federal laws and guidelines. Working closely with senior leaders the Director of Behavioral Health may provide guidance and support to the broader organization to enhance team wellness and performance. The Director of BH contributes to planning recommends services and service improvements evaluates quality engages in patient satisfaction activities and contributes to grant reporting related to behavioral health. As a clinical psychologist the BH Director conducts screening and evaluation consults with medical providers contributes to treatment planning and recommends or provides therapies and treatment to children and adults in accordance with Lorain County Health & Dentistry standards of care and the organizations Mission and Values.
