Description

Salud Para La Gente (SALUD) provides high quality comprehensive and costeffective healthcare to underserved lowincome communities in the Monterey Bay area including Santa Cruz County and North Monterey County. We began in Watsonville 1978 as a storefront free clinic and with the ever growing need for health services in 1992 we became a federally qualified community health center (FQHC). Today we are a primary health care network with 11 clinic sites over 400 employees and continue to provide high quality services to patients of all ages.


We are seeking a dynamic organized and detailoriented Behavioral Health Therapist. Under the direct supervision of the Behavioral Health Director the Behavioral Health Therapist provides direct behavioral health care to patients. This position supports the organizations mission vision and values through excellence and competence collaboration innovation respect commitment to our community and accountability and ownership.


Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:


  1. Screen for behavioral health needs in patients provide counseling and referrals document individual initial and ongoing assessments.
  2. Develop individualized treatment plans in coordination with the individual and involved parties.
  3. Assist participants in identifying and pursuing realistic treatment goals.
  4. Monitor and assess participant treatment progress and coordinate with internal and external parties as necessary providing information on community resources for patient and family assistance and support.
  5. Facilitate and provide assistance with community integration and mental health recovery.
  6. Provide emergency face to face crisis intervention and or prevention as needed to avert or in response to situation.
  7. Provide education assistance and support to family members and others involved with the participant to enhance awareness of mental and emotional illness and to increase their ability to contribute to the rehabilitation process.
  8. Maintain participant behavioral health records treatment statistics and other documentation according to agency standards.
  9. Treats counsels and educates clients including those who are primarily monolingual farm workers and their families demonstrating a knowledge of and sensitivity to their needs.
  10. Consistently adhere to and/or exceed SPLGs communication guidelines and expectations with internal and external customers including coworkers patients and external partners.
  11. Maintains professional competence by pursuing opportunities for continuous learning attending continuing education offerings reading professional literature and engaging in other activities which develop new knowledge and skills.
  12. Other duties as assigned.



Requirements

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • California Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) Licensed Psychologist or Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist (LMFT).
  • Maintains an updated CPR certificate and valid California drivers license
  • Experience working in a community health center setting or similar environment is desired.
  • Knowledge of care and control of chronic and acute behavioral health conditions and of the principles and practices of public health medicine laws and regulations.
  • Experience with electronic information systems development and integration
  • Fluent Spanish/English preferred


PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Standing walking sitting typing reaching bending moving and/or lifting up to 25 pounds.


SALARY & BENEFITS:

Salary: $91248.47$111469.74 /yr

Benefits: available to all regular Salud employees working 24 hours per week. Parttime employees may receive some benefits on a prorated basis.

Additional Information:

  • Employees on temporary assignments are eligible for holiday pay and California sick pay both prorated based on hours worked.
