Purpose: CEEW is looking to hire a young dynamic individual who is keen for a steep learning curve in the social impact sector and gets energised by contributing to high impact innovations at the intersection of social equity and environmental sustainability. The individual will be directly working with the Director Green Economy and Impact Innovations (henceforth the Director) assisting them in research programming stakeholder engagement strategic conceptualisation and research
writing.
The individual will receive close mentorship from the Director and ample opportunity to learn by shadowing and professionally supporting a highly dynamic and impactdriven individual.
The Director is part of the senior leadership and currently oversees CEEWs focus areas on Sustainable Food Systems and Sustainable Livelihoods. They also oversee CEEWs AI and Technology team (which works across sectors). They oversee a special initiative Powering Livelihoods and building another major special initiative Green Economy Accelerator. So the candidate will get a broad exposure and steep learning on various issues related to social impact and sustainability.

Job duties and accountabilities
Assisting the Director in conducting primary and secondary research towards various themes associated with green economy circular economy bioeconomy sustainable food systems sustainable livelihoods new economic and development paradigms etc.
Assisting the Director in developing concept notes research writing programme planning developing Terms of References etc.
Supporting the Director in fundraising including mapping potential funders their strategies and priorities.
Prepare succinct but highly effective memos and presentations for highlevel government and industry stakeholders.
Collaborate closely with various programme and initiative teams that the Director oversees.
Stay updated on industry/market trends technological advancements and best practices in entrepreneurship and innovation key stakeholders(individuals/organisations)
Actively build networks with various public private and civil society organisations
Travel whenever necessary to conduct/support meetings.
In addition to the duties and responsibilities above the individual should be prepared as and when necessary to take on additional responsibilities.

Selection Criteria

Qualification
Strong academic credentials preferably a Masters degree with specialisation in fields relevant to business finance and/or development sector. Knowledge/qualifications in environment/sustainability will be a strong advantage.
Experience in engaging senior stakeholders (business and/or policy context) will be essential
Experience with applying systems thinking approaches to problem solving will be an advantage
Strong analytical abilities and familiarity with primary and secondary research methods
Effective oral and written communication skills in English
Proficiency in wordprocessing presentation and data analysis tools

Work experience
24 years of relevant research/business analysis experience
Industry experience in conducting research and analysis (in policy as business/investment analyst etc)
Proven track record of delivering high quality written content for different media.
Exposure to the development sector rural management is desirable.

Key skills
Sharp and analytical mind with a willingness to explore new research areas learn new research and project management skills.
Ability to navigate ambiguous and abstract concepts and an ability to quickly grasp complex subject matter will be essential
Ability to adapt and deliver under tight deadlines in a professional environment.
Striving for rigour in research and quality in work output.
Ability to effectively work in a team while being able to independently drive research if and when needed.
Ability to dig deeper into details while not losing sight of the broader objectives.
Willingness to learn grow and develop both in personal and professional life at a rapid pace with a steep learning curve.
Ability to work in an interdisciplinary and multicultural environment.
Strong drive and initiative a selfstarter.
