The Times informs entertains campaigns and innovates. Our technology team is at the heart of this innovation and helps support a highly creative multichannel media operation that has a heritage of modernity of being first and creating change.
Team: The Times Media Product Management team is organised around three core pillars of the Times product; Subscription Growth Reader Experience and Commercial Advertising. You will be a key leader among the Reader Experience pillar.
You will be joining at an exciting time in the evolution of both the Product team and The Times as a whole you will be responsible for executing the Product strategy and directing the Product Performance tribe. The tribe is made up of crossfunctional squads of Product Design and Business Analysis. Supported by a dedicated Delivery and Engineering team.
Role: You will own and drive our digital product strategies focused on organic search performance website optimisation and site performance.This role will work at the intersection of SEO user experience and product development to enhance website visibility drive traffic growth and improve digital performance.
Day to day you will:
Collaborate with developers designers and content teams to implement best practices for site performance crawlability and performance optimisation.
Define and track key performance metrics analysing trends and providing actionable insights.
Work with crossfunctional teams to develop and implement site architecture improvements and technical SEO recommendations.
Stay ahead of search engine algorithm changes emerging trends and industry best practices.
Optimise internal linking schema markup and structured data to enhance search visibility.
Develop A/B testing strategies to improve engagement and conversion rates.
Partner with editorial and marketing teams to align SEO efforts with content strategies and campaigns.
Advocate for SEO and digital performance best practices across the organisation.
What we are looking for in you:
Proven experience in SEO digital performance optimisation and product management.
Deep understanding of search engine algorithms ranking factors and technical SEO principles.
Experience in A/B testing conversion rate optimisation (CRO) and user behavior analysis.
Strong project management skills and ability to work with crossfunctional teams.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate technical insights into business impact.
Strong datadriven decision making.
