Title: Staff Accountant Treasury
Terms of employment: This is a permanent fulltime position. Employees will be scheduled 40 hours per week and will typically work a standard schedule of Monday to Friday.

The Staff Accountant Treasury will play an integral part in the monthend quarterend and yearend closing processes. Key responsibilities include but are not limited to cash flow analysis preparing journal entries maintaining balances within GL subledgers conducting balance sheet account reconciliations and fluctuation analyses and handling sales/use tax filings and remittances.
This position will ensure the accuracy of financial statements in compliance with GAAP IFRS and ASPE/SME as well as adherence to internal controls. The Staff Accountant will also take on special projects and additional ad hoc reporting and analysis as assigned by the Controller or CFO. Collaboration with other management members and various divisions within the Finance department will be essential.
Additionally this role is vital for analyzing information from the D365 ERP system. Responsibilities will include detailed D365 ERP system testing creating test scripts and executing tests. This position will help meet the companys strategic objectives by identifying and addressing any deficiencies found during D365 ERP system testing.
Key responsibilities include:
- Perform monthly account analysis reconciling balance sheet accounts.
- Prepare analysis on account variances as needed.
- Assist in month end (and year end) closing and financial review.
- Assist with internal and external audits.
- Ensure fraud cheque is reviewed daily
- Perform monthend quarterend and yearend close management for the entire accounting/finance organization.
- Perform monthly sales/use tax compliance including researching jurisdictional taxability requirement filing and payment.
- Provide advice on D365 ERP system service delivery.
- Conduct D365 ERP system testing to ensure reliability accuracy and functionality of system changes and enhancement.
- Extract data from D365 ERP system to facilitate analysis.
- Respond to adhoc queries on D365 ERP system from internal clients in a timely manner.
The ideal candidate should have the following:
- Minimum 3 years experience working with AS/400.
- Minimum 2 years experience working with SQL Retail Live (Open RSA)
- Minimum 3 years experience performing cheque deposits processing wires bill payments payee match stop payments.
- Minimum 1 year experience in ERP systems.
- Minimum 3 years experience in PeopleSoft Financial applications.
- Minimum 3 years experience in all desktop computer applications such as MS Office including Outlook Word Excel PowerPoint and Adobe Reader.
- Enrollment in the CPA BC Program.
- Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills.
- Completion of a college program in accounting bookkeeping or a related field or completion of two years of a recognized professional accounting program
