In 2019 Ward Home joined the Auberle family and has three programs in our Young Adult Services Department.
Program Description:
The 412 Youth Zone is located in downtown Pittsburgh. The program provides comprehensive welcoming and youth driven services and support to young adults transitioning out of the foster care system or who are experiencing unstable housing.
Position Title and Overview:
Young Adult Support Specialist
Develop and maintain strong trusting relationships with young people to foster engagement and support their individual growth.
Greet and establish rapport with all youth that enter the dropin center including engaging with them to build trusting relationships.
Provide one on one contact to youth as needed and deemed necessary to evaluate their needs address challenges and celebrate successes.
Be aware of and promote the activity calendar with youth and help encourage program participation
Facilitate and promote various programs occurring at the dropin center to engage young people and meet their diverse needs.
Effectively communicate with other providers and partners who visit the dropin center to establish and maintain the community collaboration.
Support the youth by transporting them to appointments and/or activities as needed.
Maintain accurate and timely documentation to ensure effective tracking and reporting.
Location and Travel Requirements:
This position is primarily located in Downtown Pittsburgh. All positions are also expected to come to training meetings and other events at Main Campus in McKeesport as scheduled.
The travel required for this position is regular.

Position Requirements:
Act 33/34 and FBI Clearances required.
High school diploma/GED accepted and one year of experience working with youth.
Valid PA drivers license vehicle registration and proof of insurance.
Requires travel to youth homes and throughout the community.
Involves exposure to tobacco smoke domestic animals household pests and other conditions common to domestic environments.
Requires working varied hours including evenings some weekends and holidays.
