Job Description

MANAGER TEAM JOB SUMMARY

Managers at THC report directly to the Director Team. Although Managers bring a highly focused set of skill expertise knowledge and experience they also work as a team to support a coaching and goalsetting culture that focuses on growth in each direct report.


Managers work closely with the Directors to uphold a culture of Distributed Leadership by cultivating a team that emphasizes autonomy growth and efficiency. Managers maintain an agile workforce where people across the organization embrace work in flexible teams that encourage creativity in community solutions to address the root causes of hunger in a world with ever evolving external risks like geopolitical conflict pandemics and climate crisis.


Job Summary

The Fundraising and Donor Engagement Manager (FDEM) works in close collaboration with the Director of Philanthropy to support the organizations fundraising efforts that lead to $3.5 million annually. The FDEM will manage a small team of staff and volunteers execute donor stewardship activities manage fundraising operations develop engaging and impactful events and conduct philanthropic landscape analysis in support of cultivating relationships with funders. In addition this position will engage in program activities as needed to both support operations and help with effective storytelling.


Duties and Responsibilities

Operational Fundraising Support 40

  • Assist the Director of Philanthropy in implementing strategic fundraising plans.
  • Conduct detailed research to identify potential donors foundations and corporate sponsors.
  • Track progress towards fundraising benchmarks providing datadriven updates with support from Director of Philanthropy and fundraising team.
  • Serve as the primary administrator for our donor CRM (Bloomerang) maintaining accurate and uptodate records for donor interactions.

Donor Stewardship & Engagement 40

  • Coordinate all donor stewardship activities including thankyous grant reporting and personalized outreach.
  • Prepare materials presentations and reports for donor meetings and events.
  • Research potential funding opportunities tailoring messaging as needed.

Storytelling & Communications 20

  • Develop compelling donorfacing materials including impact reports and event collateral with support from Communications Manager and Director of Philanthropy.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:

  • Must have 3 years direct fundraising experience. Preference for those with at least 1 year in Major Gifts. Other applicable experience in marketing sales and communications will be considered but fundraising specific experience is a must.
  • Has Bloomerang or other donor database (CRM) experience including the construction and production of reports tracking of major gifts and prospects and embraces technology.
  • Is comfortable with a wide range of philanthropic work including: solicitation and stewardship of individual foundation and corporate gifts; grant writing and research and special events.
  • Is a strategic thinker with strong foresight generating new ideas to improve practices and optimize systems anticipating problems before they arise and offering solutions.
  • Portrays effective diplomatic and clear communication style and use of dignified storytelling to convey the impact of THC and inspire others to engage in our work. Isnt afraid of public speaking.
  • Has exceptional project management and people management skills.
  • Is able to remain motivated under pressure with strong independent problem solving skills.
  • Works well with persons of varied sexual preference racial ethnic gender identity cultural socioeconomic backgrounds and with individuals who are differentlyabled.
  • Is willing to embrace work to improve a culture of diversity equity and inclusion which is central to the work we do.
  • Has bilingual (Spanish/English) communication skills but is not required.
  • Has personal experience with food insecurity or a commitment to social justice and/or community service through previous employment and/or volunteer experience.
