THIS POSITION WILL COVER THE ENTIRE STATE OF RHODE ISLAND AND SOUTHERN MASSACHUSETTES

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:

Under the supervision of a licensed practitioner provides supervised clinical services to children and families enrolled in a Boys Town program.

• Provides counseling and treatment to children and families including assessments individual and group and family therapy.

• Conducts sessions utilizing appropriate interventions generally based on a cognitive behavioral theory.

• Provides therapy notes treatment plans and other documentation in accordance with client record protocols; provides documentation for third party payment.

• Works collaboratively with consultants in the Boys Town program.

• Assists in developing individual treatment plans monitoring and updating progress reports.

• Develops and maintains effective working relationships with necessary support services for providing youth and families with therapeutic services.

• Attends contract meetings and communicates the special qualities of Boys Town to outside consumers as needed.

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

• Knowledge of cognitive behavioral therapy along with skill set in motivational interviewing.

• Ability to communicate at all levels in the organization and with external contacts in an articulate professional manner while maintaining necessary degree of confidentiality.

• Skills in diagnoses treatment and service planning and ability to apply psychological principles and therapeutic intervention.

• Ability to adapt responses to situations while maintaining procedural and regulatory integrity.

• Ability to manage caseloads in an effective and efficient manner while maintaining protocol.

• Knowledge of principles methods and procedures for diagnosis treatment and rehabilitation.

• Ability to analyze information and evaluate results to choose the best solution and solve problems.

• Knowledge of human behavior psychological research methods and the assessment and treatment of behavioral and affective disorders.

• Ability to participate collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Masters degree in Psychology Social Work Counseling or related field required.

• Minimum of 2 years of experience working with adolescents and families required.

• Working toward licensure required.

• *Candidates in last semester of education program could be considered for employment for this role

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS EQUIPMENT USAGE WORK ENVIRONMENT:

• Position is relatively sedentary in a normal office administrative environment involving minimum exposure to physical risks. Will use office equipment such as a computer/laptop monitor keyboard and a general workstation setup.
