Department Overview

The Radiology department provides a complete range of sedated and nonsedated diagnostic imaging procedures for major and minor pediatric surgery disease or injury. Twentyfour hour consultation services as well as education and outreach programs are available.


Position Summary

The Multispecialty Technologist provides imaging services to patients and physicians to assist in diagnosis and/or treatment of a variety of conditions. Assists with the performance of diagnostic and technical procedures including but not limited to percutaneous diagnostic and interventional radiology procedures under the direct supervision of a Licensed Practitioner. Exercises professional judgment in performance of services and maintains a demeanor complimentary to medical ethics. Provides appropriate patient care and recognizes patient conditions essential for successful completion of procedures in both radiology and IR.

A Multispecialty Imaging Technologist is regularly scheduled to work in two of the following the modalities: Radiology Computed Tomography Magnetic Resonance Imaging Interventional Radiology Cardiovascular Imaging.

DHS Background Study Required Yes

License/Certification/Registration:
*Registered Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) required
*Current Basic Life Support CPR Certification (BLS) required

Education:
*Associates Degree in Radiology or the equivalent required

Experience:
*12 years Radiology experience required
*13 years of modalityspecific experience preferred
*Pediatric experience preferred

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
*Effective verbal written and interpersonal communication skills.
*Demonstrate independent work initiative sound judgment diplomacy tact and professional demeanor.
*Using time efficiently and productively; prioritizing multiple tasks properly to meet deadlines; recognizing time constraints and adjusting work schedule to address them.
*Understanding and showing respect and appreciation for the uniqueness of all individuals; leveraging differences in others perspectives and ideas; appreciating cultural differences and adjusting ones approach to successfully integrate with others who are different from oneself.
*Demonstrate working knowledge of computer technology and imaging systems including working knowledge of basic computer applications.
*Challenging the status quo and seizing opportunities to enhance work processes and outcomes; voluntarily seeking new or extra responsibilities and challenges; going beyond what is expected; proactively delving into work without hesitation.
*Analytical ability sufficient to evaluate data make judgments and recommendations.
*Possess knowledge of specific radiology modality procedures and their application to the pediatric population and continuing throughout the stages of life; possess knowledge of ultrasound procedures and their application to the pediatric population.
*Physical ability and stamina (bending standing squatting lifting transferring and standing for extended periods of time) sufficient to be able to manage busy workload with patients of varying ages diagnoses and ability to cooperate.

The posted salary represents a market competitive range based on salary survey benchmark data for similar roles in the local or national market. When determining individual pay rates we carefully consider a wide range of factors including but not limited to market indicators for the specific role the skills education training credentials and experience of the candidate internal equity and organizational needs.

In addition to your salary this position may be eligible for medical dental vision retirement and other fringe benefits. Positions that require night weekend or oncall work may be eligible for shift differentials or premium pay.
