General Overview
PHARMACY TECHNICIAN Lunder 10 Oncology Satellite Under the direct supervision of a staff pharmacistand the pharmacy manager follows established policies and procedures to perform a variety of technical and clerical support tasks that are integral to the operation of the department. Responsibilities Prepares all hazardous (includes chemotherapy) and nonhazardous IV medications new IVs and short stability IVs; prepares all ongoing IVs according to production schedule; inventories and orders IV admixture supplies; empties yellowbuckets and prepares boxes for disposal of contaminated equipment; cleans and maintains work area and equipment; restocks diluents syringes and needles. Delivers prepared IVs to the nursing units.
Qualifications
The ability to speak the English language read interpret and follow complicated verbal and written instruction with precision accuracy and dependability.
Effective interpersonal and communication skills attention to detail math skills (addition subtraction multiplication division ratios/proportions) determine priority and ability to meet deadlines are all required.
IV experience or experience in aseptic processing preferred
High School diploma required
Current Massachusetts Pharmacy Technician License required.
Pharmacy Technician National Certification (PTCB) required
