Job Description
Overview:
The Staff Assistant for the Boston Centers for Youth and Families (BCYF) directs patrons answers telephones and provides scheduling programs and community resources information to the general public.
Responsibilities:
- Provides coverage.
- Prepares office correspondence vendor payments program reports and other related materials.
- Creates updates and maintains filing system personnel time attendance and bookkeeping materials.
- Orders office supplies and program and facility supplies as required.
- Schedules appointments.
- Payroll preparations and distributions.
- Performs other related duties as required.
Minimum Entrance Qualifications:
- Two 2 years of experience in administrative work is required. Appropriate education may be substituted for the required experience on a prorated basis.
- Working knowledge of computers: Word Excel Access and PowerPoint.
- Ability to type 30 wpm.
- Good verbal and written skills are preferred.
- Ability to work effectively in multicultural multiethnic work environments.
- Ability to exercise good judgment and focus on detail as required by the job.
C.O.R.I. & S.O.R.I. check required.
BOSTON RESIDENCY REQUIRED
