Skills Required:
Strong verbal communication reading and writing abilities required. Be able to interact with patients and staff congenially. Proficient in basic mathematical skills.

Summary:
Under the supervision of the System Director Nutrition performs a variety of clerical duties relating to food production control nutrition service and outpatient nutrition counseling.
Job Specific Responsibilities:
- Facilitates workflow in the Food and Nutrition Services Department.
- Accesses H.I.S. computer system and performs many nutrition related functions within the system (census sheets interface etc..
- Updates the GeriMenu Diet Office resident files enters diet orders menus and prints tray tickets prior to meal time.
- Picks up menus and assists patients with selections as needed on a limited number of floors.
- Answers the telephones and takes messages or transfers calls to appropriate person.
- Records all requests for late meal trays supplies supplements etc. in phone logbook. Writes tickets with requested item(s) and brings to the appropriate kitchen staff member.
- Prints nourishment sheets labels and other daily reports.
- Prints daily food tallies and distributes to appropriate kitchen prep areas.
- Makes all necessary changes to GeriMenu Diet Office System when new diets come through H.I.S. printer.
- Prints menus to be passed out for the following day.
- Assists in training new employees on the GeriMenu Diet Office System.
- Uses the nutrition office communication book to identify and make other coworkers aware of pertinent issues.
- Schedules outpatient nutrition counseling explains programs records patient information and arranges and confirms appointments.
