Job Description

General Overview

Under the direction of the Sr. Manager of Market Strategy support Marketing Business Planning and Business Development initiatives of Partners Healthcare and its member institutions. Supported staff at these entities may include marketing heads corporate business leaders and physician chiefs among others.

Responsibilities

Overall

Conduct ongoing and adhoc primary and secondary research and analysis.
Develop reports to display results of research and analysis and bring drafts of work to management for consultation and review
Interact closely with other areas at Partners and the hospitals to develop robust strategic solutions for clients.
Become a superuser of all key research tools through training testing and everyday usage.
Manage and maintain existing systems and tools including updating datasets and platform functionality as required.
Work with vendors both as part of ongoing work and to facilitate tools management.
Work on an ongoing effort to automate and enhance data manipulation and sharing.
Ensure project documents are complete current and stored appropriately.

Primary Research and Analysis

Draft materials for research (surveys and discussion guides) using inhouse tools and in collaboration with 3rd parties.
Manage field work and recruiting of respondents as needed.
Use existing tools for ongoing tracking and analysis of specific types of data.
Analyze primary market research data for key findings.
Develop and present PowerPoint presentations of study findings.
Help craft takeaways and implications based on study findings.

Secondary Research and Analysis

Perform strategic industry analyses (e.g. market share analyses trends in healthcare payment options physician referral patterns role of online channel in the delivery of healthcare etc. using inhouse tools and general research.
Compile and distribute weekly competitive brief.
Become a superuser of the Market Data Warehouse (Inpatient ED Observation Databases Demand Forecast Readmissions Database Outpatient Market Share Database) and thirdparty tools.
Perform statistical analyses document results and prepare reports highlighting research findings and outlining both the what and the why.
Research general industry information to understand healthcare trends for academic medical centers and community and specialty hospitals.


A successful candidate should possess:

BA/BS preferably in quantitative market research or health sciences disciplines marketing market research social sciences or a related field; MBA/MPA/MHA desired but not required; demonstrated interest in healthcare is a plus.
2 years relevant work experience in market research and statistical analyses preferably in healthcare.
Advanced computer skills including SPSS Excel PowerPoint Access Tableau other business related software. SAS and SQL skills a plus.
Excellent communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal relations skills.
Ability to work on multiple projects concurrently.
An energetic creative and collaborative approach to working and problem solving; must be able to work in a team environment as well as independently.
The ability to transform complex ideas into straightforward presentations
A balance of patience and perseverance necessary to affect change in a large and complex organization.
