The total hourly range for this classification is $20.76 $25.26/hour.
The Public Works Department is recruiting to fillseveralEvent Services Representative (Recreation Leader Part Time Unbenefited) positionsto support the coordination of events occurring at City Hall. The ideal candidates willpossessa high levelof professionalism excellent customer service skills and a strong work ethic. The position requires excellent judgment initiative independence integrity organizational skills flexibility and written and verbal communication skills.
Event Services Representativesassistin monitoring and providing customer/client support forspecial events. Event Services Representatives maybe requiredto provide technicalassistanceand set up of equipment on day of eventassistin resolving customer issues and complaints and respond to emergency situations during events. The onsite Event Services Representative coordinates with event staff such as ushers ticket takers security crowd control outside contractors and performs facility safety checks which may include enforcing Safety and Fire Marshall Regulations.
Due to the nature of the job responsibilities Event Services Representatives must be able to:
Work extended/irregular hours including nights weekends and holidays as needed.
Stand and/or walk for extended periods of time.
Lift and carry items weighing between 25 and 50 pounds on an as needed basis.
Comprehend verbal and written instructions.
Prepare event reports.
A postoffer preemployment TB test may be conducted by City of San JosEmployee Health Services.

Required Licensing
A valid First Aid certificate isand must bemaintained. Must provide proof of a valid certificate or will need to obtain a certificate within one 1 year of hire. This requirement does not apply to seasonal hires.
A valid CPR certificate isand must bemaintained. Must provide proof of a valid certificate or will need to obtain a certificate within six 6 months of hire. This requirement does not apply to seasonal hires.
Necessary Special Qualification: Those applicants in their last semester of high school arepermittedto apply but will beto provide proof of graduation prior to obtaining a work assignment.
