About the Role
The Mechanical Design Engineer plays a pivotal role in supporting crossfunctional teams including Sales Quality Purchasing and Manufacturing. This position is responsible for developing and maintaining manufacturing documentation and component drawings contributing to product design for manufacturability and aiding in accurate quoting through technical evaluations.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with Sales to understand and interpret customer project demands and evaluate specifications for manufacturability
- Develop product solutions and alternatives for new or nonstandard applications using technical knowledge
- Work with the Engineering team to finalize documentation for production release
- Create process documentation including assembly drawings and work instructions
- Troubleshoot and resolve Engineering and Manufacturing related issues
- Evaluate risks in processes and develop practices to mitigate them
- Interface with Manufacturing Quality Sales and Purchasing departments
- Maintain component prints to current revisions and support Purchasing with proper vendor documentation
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Ability to prioritize multiple projects simultaneously
- Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Manufacturing or Industrial Engineering (or related fields) or equivalent experience
- Proficient in 2D/3D CAD with strong knowledge of drawing and dimensioning standards including GD&T
- Proficient with Microsoft Windows Excel Word and Outlook
- Skilled in reading interpreting and preparing technical prints and specifications
