The Oncology Research Nurse (OCN) in collaboration with the Investigators Clinical Research Supervisor and Project Manager/CRC is responsible for the implementation and evaluation of clinical research in their area. Responsibilities include screening enrolling and following oncology research subjects. The Oncology Research Nurse has expert knowledge of cancer as a disease process cancer treatment modalities (or comparable knowledge for a nononcology area e.g. infection control) and the process of conducting clinical research. Strong interpersonal organizational and communication skills are required. Knowledge of current literature and a commitment to continued learning are also required.BSN required. Masters degree preferred. Minimum of 2 years of Oncology research experience is required. Must be proficient in database management spreadsheets and word processing.Working knowledge of statistical tools. Ahigh level of interpersonal skills and professional poise to interact with Surgical Staff Hospital Staff and Management is required. Experience working in a medical or scientific research setting or comparable is required. Assessment and goal setting skills project/time management skills and problem solving skills are required.
