The Department of Radiation Oncology and Applied Sciences (DROAS) at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center seeks applications for a fulltime radiation oncologist to serve in St. Johnsbury Vermont. DROAS is a member of the Dartmouth Cancer Center (DCC) one of the original NCIdesignated cancer centers and the Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth College.
Boasting ACR accreditation DROAS is a longstanding member of NRG/RTOG (Lead Academic Participating Site) and participant of Alliance & ECOGACRIN (full members). The current faculty includes multiple physicianscientists with wet & dry labs. Staffing includes 11 physicians 7 physicists 9 dosimetrists 8 nurses 27 RTTs & shared secretarial and administrative support. DROAS has a fully ACGMEaccredited medical residency program and a CAMPEPaccredited medical physics residency program.
Candidates must be BE/BC in Radiation Oncology and have a strong commitment to academic cancer care. The Radiation Oncologists duties include confirming diagnoses determining the appropriate treatments and conducting radiation therapy. The provider will work closely with our experienced radiation oncology team which includes ABR certified radiation oncologists and physicists. The successful candidate must have adequate clinical and interpersonal skills as part of a collegial collaborative and multidisciplinary team. This position includes opportunities for research collaboration with faculty at the DCC Dartmouth College Geisel School of Medicine Thayer School of Engineering graduate program in medical physics and The Dartmouth Institute. Faculty rank at the Geisel School of Medicine is commensurate with qualifications.

The Physician is responsible for supervising and providing necessary and desirable medical care within the Physicians specialty to DartmouthHitchcock patients consistent with the policies and procedures of DHC the facility at which care is rendered and the directions of the Service Line Leader or his/her designee.
If the Physicians specialty is such that call coverage is required it is expected that the Physician will rotate call coverage with those physicians and allied health professionals in his or her specialty (as applicable) so that each provider including the Physician has a comparable amount of on call time during nights weekends and holidays for providing coverage outside of standard business hours. The parties expect that while on call the Physician will be in close proximity to Mary Hitchcock Memorial Hospital (or other applicable facility for which the Physician is covering).
In addition to the Physicians clinical responsibilities the Physician will spend sufficient and reasonable time on administrative and recordkeeping matters pertaining to the Physicians medical practice.

The candidate will serve as generalist radiation oncologist. Stateof theart technology including MRI Linear accelerator (MRIdian) Varian HDR and VisionRT is part of the armamentarium of treatment delivery available through DROAS. Career development for the successful candidate is a high priority of our leadership.
