Job Description
Location: Waxahachie TX 75165
Shift: 8 HR Days 07:00 AM - 03:00 PM
Guaranteed Hours: (40 hours/week)
Compensation: Based on experience (Negotiable)
- Perform radiation therapy procedures with precision and care following prescribed protocols and physician instructions.
- Utilize AIDET communication (Acknowledge Introduce Duration Explanation Thank You) to effectively engage with patients.
- Identify and meet patient needs; establish rapport and maintain professionalism.
- Educate patients and families about procedures and address any concerns.
- Assess patients physical and emotional readiness for procedures.
- Accurately position patients and adjust immobilization devices as needed.
- Operate therapy equipment and adjust exposure settings as required.
- Ensure radiation and infection safety protocols are strictly followed.
- Maintain proper sterile techniques and hand hygiene in all procedures.
- Perform equipment checks maintain cleanliness and report any issues to management.
- Collaborate with engineers and physicists to ensure equipment functionality.
- Monitor supply levels and assist in inventory control.
- Screen all individuals entering the treatment area in compliance with safety protocols.
- Accurately maintain patient documentation consent forms and imaging records.
- Follow department procedures for timely interpretation and record-keeping.
- Strong knowledge of radiation therapy protocols and equipment.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- High level of patient care and comfort in high-stress situations.
- Capable of delivering emergency care (first aid and use of emergency cart).
- Professional demeanor with a commitment to excellent customer service.
- Actively seek and implement feedback to improve patient satisfaction.
- Demonstrated knowledge across all age demographics (newborn to geriatric).
- Willingness to serve as a preceptor for new hires and team members.
Certification/License:
- ARRT-T Radiation Therapy Certification
(Certified by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists in Radiation Therapy)
