The process engineer designs improves and manages production processes in manufacturing. They work to maximize efficiency minimize waste and meet quality and safety standards.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Process Analysis:
Conduct detailed analysis of current manufacturing processes to identify bottlenecks inefficiencies and areas for improvement including cycle times material usage and quality control metrics.
Data Collection and Analysis:
Utilize data collection systems to gather production data perform statistical analysis and generate actionable insights to inform optimization strategies.
Writing reports:
Write reports based on data collected and present findings to higherups
Lean Methodology Implementation:
Lead the implementation of Lean manufacturing principles (e.g. 5S Kanban PokaYoke) to streamline operations and reduce waste.
Designing and implementing processes:
Develop innovative techniques to optimize production efficiency and quality and minimize costs.
Performing process simulations and troubleshooting issues:
Perform risk assessments and design and test process upgrades
Continuous Improvement Projects:
Initiate and manage improvement projects including identifying root causes of problems developing and implementing solutions and tracking results.
Performance Monitoring:
Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to production efficiency quality and cost to measure the effectiveness of optimization initiatives.
Equipment Optimization:
Collaborate with maintenance teams to optimize equipment performance identify potential upgrades and minimize downtime.
Ensuring compliance with safety standards:
Identify potential hazards and implement safety protocols.
Change Management:
Facilitate change management processes to effectively implement new procedures and ensure adoption across the manufacturing floor.
Collaboration:
Work closely with crossfunctional teams including production engineering quality control and supply chain to identify and implement optimization opportunities.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
Technical Expertise:
Strong understanding of manufacturing processes including machining assembly and quality control procedures.
Data Analytics:
Proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g. Excel Power BI statistical software) to extract insights from production data.
Lean Manufacturing:
Knowledge of Lean principles and methodologies for process improvement.
ProblemSolving:
Excellent analytical and problemsolving skills to identify root causes and develop effective solutions.
Project Management:
Ability to manage multiple optimization projects simultaneously including planning and monitoring progress.
Communication Skills:
Effective communication skills to clearly present findings recommendations and updates to stakeholders at various levels.
