Job Description

High school graduate or equivalent required. Six months recent experience as a Nursing Assistant or other direct patient care position and/or successful recent completion of a Certified Nursing Assistant Training Program and/or completion of at least one School of Nursing clinical rotation required. Experience in a hospital setting required. English communication skills are also required. Previous clerical/secretarial experience in a health care setting preferred.Basic computer skills including keyboarding and medical terminology preferredProvides and/or coordinates the delivery of a variety of patient care services under the direction of the Registered Professional Nurse. Direct patient care activities can include taking vital signs performing EKGs performing phlebotomy and assisting patients with the basic activities of daily living. She/he acts as a key contact person for the nursing unit; performs appropriate tasks to implement physician orders clerical tasks and reception duties.
