We are looking for a talented Civil Engineer to join our growing Roadway/Highway design team in the Kansas City region. The ideal candidate for this role will be an EIT with experience working on local agency and/or DOT roadway design projects. In this position the candidate will:
Prepare preliminary design plans documents and specifications under the guidance of senior engineers.
Conduct analyses and perform standard computations drawings and visual aids for projects.
May coordinate work with entrylevel engineers technicians or other staff.
Collaborate with the design team to ensure compliance with local state and federal regulations.
Conduct field inspections to gather relevant data and contribute to site assessments.
Utilize design software and tools for drafting and modeling.
Support the development of cost estimates for projects.
Perform quality control selfchecks of assigned work.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications for this role:
Bachelors or masters degree in Civil Engineering or a related engineering field from an ABET accredited civil engineering program.
Passed FE/EI exam
3 years of relevant roadway design engineering experience
Proficiency with AutoCAD and/or MicroStation
Strong understanding of design principles and standards
Proficiency with Microsoft Office products including: Excel Word and PowerPoint
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work individually or as part of a team
