QUALIFICATIONS:
Associates Degree in secretarial sciences/finance
At least 3 years experience in an office setting

Types a minimum of 60 WPM
Excellent organizational skills
Ability to function independently and prioritize work

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1.Responsible for provision of secretarial support functions for physicians and others in the CIRS Division as needed; activities include transcription of medical and general correspondence utilizing EPIC system; slides technical/medical manuscripts and research grant proposals from handwritten notes dictation machine or electronic draft using word processor; proofreading and using spellchecking function to eliminate unnecessary typos or spelling errors; photocopying and filing copies of correspondence and other materials in a timely systematic method to ensure easy retrieval of information as needed; responding to reprint requests and simple correspondence. Scanning documents into various systems.
2.Responsible for answering telephones screening making appointments handling routing or taking messages for calls as necessary; responsible for distribution of telephone messages; may require sensitive handling of patient and physician calls; initiates calls as requested by physicians.
3.Responsible for management of incoming and outgoing mail; sorts and distributes all incoming mail in a timely manner; opens correspondence for physicians as directed.
4.Responsible for timely generation of finished powerpoint slides for a variety of teaching assignments and lectures. Activities include entering data into computer files form handwritten notes previouslyproduced graphics etc; production of hard copy drafts of graphics for proofing and editing. Requires attention to detail and independent judgement of quality of resulting presentation.
5.Assists with the HMS CME process for all courses in the Center.
6.Responsible for updating and tracking IRB approvals and renewals as well as assisting with grant preparation.
7.Maintains effective working/harmonious relationships with coworkers hospital personnel visitors patients etc.
8.Performs related duties as required
