Job Description
- Read and interpret engineering drawings blueprints charts and tables
- Inspect machined parts and tooling in order to maintain quality control standards
- Inspects tests and adjusts new and reworked tools dies gauges jigs and fixtures for conformance to specifications for example dimensions tolerances and hardness
- Work for machinery equipment motor vehicle automotive parts aircraft and other metal products manufacturing companies and for machine shops
- Verify dimensions of machined parts or tooling using micrometers verniers callipers height gauges optical comparators coordinate measuring machines (CMM) or other specialized measuring instruments
- Applying knowledge of tool and die design shop mathematics and machining and testing procedures using precision measuring instruments testing equipment and handtools
- Report deviations from specifications and tolerances to supervisor and complete and maintain inspection reports
- Examines defective parts to determine cause of defect and recommends changes or modifications
- Work in wood manufacturing and food processing plants as well as in refineries
- They fit and assemble machined metal parts and subassemblies using hand and power tools and verify dimensions of products for accuracy and conformance to specifications using precision measuring instruments
- Writes report regarding inspection and testing results
Requirements
- Highschool diploma or GED
- 3 5 years proven working experience in related field
- Must have a strong attention to detail
- Able to communicate complicated technical ideas with precision and clarity
- Need to have good physical mobility
- Able to lift heavy objects and handle production pressures calmly
- A great attitude
- Able to work in a Team
- Pride in workmanship
