Job Description
Solarus is currently looking for motivated individuals to join their seasonal construction crew. This is a great opportunity for anyone looking to get their foot in the door in a construction environment. If you enjoy working outdoors thrive in a fastpaced environment and are passionate about safety then this might be the right position for you.
As a member of the construction crew you will be responsible for performing general manual labor tasks related to the installation and maintenance of outside plant facilities for Solarus diverse fiber optic network. You will work under the direction of the Construction Foreman and will be required to follow standard safety procedures and regulations to ensure a safe working environment.
This position is outdoors may come into contact with poisonous plants and requires the ability to work in all weather conditions.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provides support to our fulltime Construction Crew through various tasks; which may include:
Digging and shoveling
Cleaning and restocking work vehicles
Operation of hand tools and small power equipment
Other related job duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
At least age 18
Valid Wisconsin Drivers License
Enrolled in postsecondary education for the Fall
Ability to perform routine physical labor tasks including repetitious lifting up to 100 pounds
Demonstrated ability to follow directions in a fastpaced work environment
Basic mechanical skills
Overtime hours may be required
Working hours will be 7:00 am to 5:30 pm Monday thru Friday up to 56 hours per week. No weekends or holidays.
