This position is located in PASS (Pathology and Applied Safety Science) a chapter within the Pharmaceutical Sciences function. We drive the nonclinical safety assessment of drug candidates from small molecules to complex biological products during the discovery and development phases at Roche.
We are offering an outstanding opportunity for a Pathology Laboratory Associate to develop and execute histologic techniques for preclinical in vitro and in vivo models supporting prioritization and derisking of novel therapeutic agents throughout the drug discovery and development process.
This position is located in Pathology and Applied Safety Sciences (PASS) to support our histopathology core lab team and will work closely with scientists and associates across several disciplines including pathology investigative toxicology and immunosafety.
You work at the interface of histopathology and investigative toxicology to better characterize complex vitro models and understand druginduced mechanisms of toxicity.
You perform standard histology and molecular pathology tissue technologies (Immunohistochemistry multipleximmunofluorescence on complex in vitro models and in vivo tissues.
You perform slide scanning (brightfield fluorescent) as well as study metadata recording into the corresponding LIMS.
You perform quality control routine maintenance and troubleshooting across a range of histology lab instruments to ensure highquality data production
This position is a Roche temporary position for 2 years.
You hold a degree as a Biology Laboratory Technician (Laborant: in EFZ Fachrichtung Biologie / Histologie or Dipl. Biomedizinische/r Analytiker/in HF) and/or a B.Sc. in Life Sciences e.g. Biotechnology Biomedical Science Cell Biology and Analytics Applied Cell Biology Medical Laboratory Sciences Histotechnology (Histopathology or Cellular Pathology Specialization)
You have at least 3 years of laboratory experience with histological preparation of mammalian tissues including tissue processing (both frozen and formalinfixed paraffinembedded) immunohistochemistry and immunofluorescence with attention to detail along with robust manual dexterity and precision handling of delicate samples.
You bring deep knowledge of the operation and maintenance of histological laboratory equipment.
You have a high degree of selforganization and are a team player
You demonstrate excellent communication and collaboration skills.
You enjoy working in a dynamic team environment at the interface of investigative pathology and toxicology.
