The Monterey County Health Department is seeking a candidate with proven executive management experience in providing behavioral health services in California to fill a vacancy for the position of Bureau Chiefin the Behavioral Health Bureau and to serve as the Director of Behavioral Health. TheBureau Chief is responsible for planning directing coordinating organizing and evaluating the operations of the Behavioral Health Bureau. This position is AtWill and works under general direction of the Director of Health.
The Behavioral Health Bureau provides a wide range of prevention diagnostic treatment and community services for children adolescents and adults with mental illness substance use disorder and cooccurring conditions. The Bureau employs 500 FTEs contracts with a large communitybased provider network (about 100 providers) and manages an annual budget of $167 million.
