Job Description
Responsibilities:
Teach undergraduate courses in mathematics statistics and data analytics for both majors and nonmajors as assigned.
Other responsibilities include helping students in assigned courses using Starfish and providing student accommodations when necessary and familiarity with Blackboard.
Qualifications:
Minimum qualifications:
- MS in mathematics applied mathematics statistics data analytics actuarial science or a closely related field by August 2024.
- Successful applicants will (i) demonstrate an ability to teach mathematics or statistics courses both for majors and nonmajors (ii) present evidence of teaching excellence at the high school or undergraduate level.
- The successful applicants will also present evidence of being able to engage students in the classroom.
Preferred qualifications:
- Experience using Blackboard or similar teaching platforms such as Canvas.
- Experience using MyMathLab StatLab or other appropriate software such as R.
- The Department is especially interested in applicants who bring various perspectives to the University and in those who may be especially effective in mentoring students who are members of groups that have been historically underrepresented in the discipline.
