Earlham College is seeking a Visiting Assistant Professor of Chemistry (One Year Appointment) to join our team.
Job Summary:
Earlham College invites applications for a fulltime Visiting Assistant Professor position in the Department of Chemistry beginning in August 2025. This position is a oneyear appointment; however we anticipate a tenuretrack search in Analytical Chemistry this coming fall. The Chemistry department seeks candidates excited about teaching bright and motivated undergraduates in a small liberal arts college environment.
The Chemistry program at Earlham strives to help students gain the analytical and critical thinking and writing skills required to attend top graduate schools medical schools veterinary schools and public health programs or to gain employment in industry. The Department of Chemistry is housed in a recently expanded and renovated
LEEDcertified facility and offers a BA in Chemistry including an ACS Certified degree as well as an interdepartmental BA in Biochemistry.
The department strives to develop students data analysis and contemporary laboratory skills using researchbased projects throughout our laboratory curriculum that takes advantage of our modern instrumentation including a 400MHz multinuclear NMR GCMS ICP Flame and GraphiteFurnace AA FTIR DSC spectrofluorometer HPLC and portable FTIR and XRF spectrometers.
