Job Description

We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Manufacturing Engineer to lead our manufacturing engineering efforts. This role will involve driving process improvements deploying new equipment managing manufacturing capabilities and facilitating employee training initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Process Improvement & Cost Reduction:
    • Identify analyze and implement process improvements to increase efficiency reduce waste and optimize production costs.
    • Lead continuous improvement initiatives across all manufacturing operations.
    • Collaborate with crossfunctional teams to drive cost reduction strategies.
  • Deployment of New Equipment & Capabilities:
    • Manage the installation testing and commissioning of new manufacturing equipment and technologies.
    • Assess new equipment and technologies making recommendations for purchase to improve manufacturing capabilities.
    • Oversee the integration of new equipment into existing operations to ensure smooth transitions and minimal downtime.
  • Manufacturing Support & Troubleshooting:
    • Provide ongoing technical support to production teams to resolve any engineering or operational issues.
    • Assist in the development of best practices and troubleshooting protocols for the manufacturing floor.
    • Work closely with production teams to ensure all machinery and equipment operate at optimal efficiency.
  • Training & Development:
    • Develop and implement training programs for shop floor employees to enhance their technical skills and understanding of manufacturing processes.
    • Mentor and coach shop floor personnel to improve their troubleshooting operational and technical capabilities.
    • Ensure that all employees adhere to safety standards and quality protocols.
  • Collaboration & Reporting:
    • Collaborate with operations production and quality teams to ensure alignment with overall production goals.
    • Provide regular reports on process improvement project progress and costsaving initiatives to senior management.
    • Develop and monitor KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) to measure the effectiveness of implemented changes.
Qualifications:
  • Education & Experience:
    • Bachelors degree in Manufacturing Engineering Mechanical Engineering Industrial Engineering or a related field.
    • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a manufacturing engineering role with a focus on process improvement equipment deployment and cost reduction.
    • Experience in a highspec industry such as aerospace defense healthcare or power generation is a plus.
  • Skills & Competencies:
    • Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes including machining welding assembly and fabrication.
    • Expertise in lean manufacturing Six Sigma or other continuous improvement methodologies.
    • Proficiency in CAD software and engineering tools.
    • Strong project management skills with the ability to lead and coordinate multiple projects simultaneously.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate with diverse teams and train shop floor employees effectively.
  • Other Requirements:
    • Ability to work in a fastpaced environment and handle multiple tasks under tight deadlines.
    • Willingness to travel between the three Illinois sites as needed.
