Job Description

Space Systems Integration (SSI) is a fastgrowing engineering company that provides aerospace solutions to a variety of government and commercial customers. Our employees are forwardthinking selfdirected individuals who are committed to solving our customers technical challenges.

SSI is seeking a Ground Software Engineer (PWSA) to support our customer in Chantilly VA.

Responsibilities include:

Lead SW engineer provides a deep understanding of satellite systems and all internal and external interfacing components.

Focus is on internal ground segment mission planning and scheduling functions and associated external requirements.

Works with development teams at the messaging and system function level to ensure all equities of design are in working order and translate to inform testing and checkout for promotion through DevSecOps.

Provides expertise across the entire systems engineering cycle and is knowledgeable on all Tranche system components from an architecture and technical level.

Participate in milestones to include but not limited to: System Requirements Review Preliminary Design Review and Critical Design Review activities and provide subject matter expertise.

Applies problemsolving skills to identify and respond to system gaps proactively.

Maintains active awareness of baseline requirements interfaces and integration touchpoints to ensure the system progresses through all milestones and the Tranches achieve operations transition and system closure.

Required Qualifications

Bachelors degree in science technology engineering or math (STEM).
Minimum of 8 years experience with satellite and ground systems.
Technical and analytic understanding of satellite and ground system interaction.
Strong experience in requirements development and tracking.
Ability to work in a fastpaced environment with excellent oral and written communication skills.
TS Clearance required. Must be able to obtain/maintain SCI.

Preferred Qualifications

Masters degree in STEM or related discipline.
