Job Description
Responsibilities
*This position is for potential upcoming work.
Noblis MSD is seeking a MicrosoftSystems Engineer of Automation for an effort to provide systems engineering and integration of Naval software systems onsite at NIWC Atlantic in Charleston.
Responsibilities
- Provide knowledge in systems engineering and information technology
- Develop solutions to automate systems administration tasks including troubleshooting performing diagnostics and resolving discovered issues
- Develop automated maintenance scripts that automatically detect issues/anomalies within a datacenter and resolve those issues
- Investigate and resolve issues that span multiple applications/technologies and require involvement from technical personnel across multiple groups
- Develop automated test cases
- Develop and/or revise system designs and architectures to improve efficiency stability effectiveness supportability and sustainability
- Provide feedback on internal processes and recommendations for improvement
- Contribute to team efforts by accomplishing related taskings as directed
- Provide technical knowledge to design systems that monitor and manage DoD systems
- Prepare technical briefs to present to engineering review teams
- Integrate COTS and GOTS software into CANES baselines
- Provide technical knowledge to support and maintain Microsoft and other vendor IT enterprise products
- Install test branches on physical hardware on lab equipment as first level integration tests
- Verify install documentation is executable
This is an onsite position in Charleston SC.
Required Qualifications
- U.S. Citizen
- Bachelors Degree OR Associates Degree 3 years of experience OR High School Diploma 6 years of experience.
- A minimum of a Department of Defense (DoD) Secret level Security Clearance or be able to obtain an interim security clearance prior to hire date
- Experience with Microsoft Windows Server and Client Operating Systems
- Experience with Microsoft enterprise products: Exchange SQL SharePoint
Desired Qualifications
- 6 years experience in a systems engineer role overseeing complex IT infrastructure
- Ability to effectively install configure and administer in a multisystem and/or multiapplication environment
- Experience with Microsoft PowerShell is critical as it is heavily leveraged to automate installation configuration hardening and maintenance tasks
- Ability to automate the installation and configuration of applications
- Working knowledge and experience with Agile framework and Scrum
- Knowledge of Linux/Windows OS and networking from a system design perspective
- Ability to create and test virtualized environments (VMWare OpenShift HyperV AWS) for development and testing procedures that are traceable to system requirements
- Working knowledge and experience of System Engineering processes and procedures
- Strong documentation and oral communication skills to clearly communicate with all levels of users engineers managers and organizations
- DoDCertifications to be qualified as an Information Assurance Technician (IAT) Level II (ex: CompTIA Security CE etc.
- A bachelors degree in computer science or engineering
- Microsoft certification (i.e. MCIT MCSA MCSE etc.
- 2 years experience automating complex IT tasks and infrastructure
- Experience with Git familiarity with Bitbucket GitLab Confluence Jira
- Knowledgeable with integrated development environment (IDE Visual Studio Code) for GIT management and code revision
- Experience with Ansible Automation Platform playbook creation and development
- Experience with programming/scripting languages (BashPythonHTMLJAVA)
- Experience with Test Driven Development
- Experience with VMWare virtual infrastructure
- Knowledge of Data Science pipelines
- Experience with Linux administration and BASH scripting

Compensation at Noblis is determined by various factors including but not limited to the combination of education certifications knowledge skills competencies and experience internal and external equity location clearance level as well as contractspecific affordability organizational requirements and applicable employment laws. The projected compensation range for this positionis based on full time status. For part time or oncall staff compensation is proportionately adjusted based on hours worked. While monetary compensation is important its just one component of Noblis total compensation package.
