Job Description
Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and passionate Tea Tester to evaluate the quality flavor aroma and appearance of teas. The ideal candidate will have a refined palate an indepth understanding of tea varieties and the ability to identify subtle differences in taste and quality. This role is crucial in maintaining product standards and ensuring customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Tea Tasting & Evaluation:
- Conduct sensory evaluations of tea samples assessing flavor aroma color and texture.
- Identify and classify teas based on quality region and blend characteristics.
- Quality Control:
- Ensure tea products meet company standards and customer expectations.
- Work with the production team to address quality issues and implement improvements.
- Blend Development:
- Collaborate with the R&D team to create new tea blends and recipes.
- Experiment with ingredients and proportions to achieve desired flavor profiles.
- Supplier & Procurement Support:
- Evaluate tea samples from suppliers to ensure consistency and quality.
- Provide recommendations on sourcing based on market trends and quality standards.
- Market Research & Trends:
- Stay updated on global tea trends consumer preferences and emerging flavors.
- Provide insights to the marketing team to position products effectively.
- Documentation & Reporting:
- Maintain detailed records of tea samples evaluations and feedback.
- Generate reports to support quality assurance and product development.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor s degree in Food Science Agriculture or a related field.
- Certification in tea tasting or a related specialty is a plus.
- 3 years of experience in tea tasting or a similar role in the food and beverage industry.
- Deep knowledge of tea varieties cultivation and processing methods.
Skills & Attributes:
- Exceptional sensory skills with the ability to identify subtle differences in flavor and aroma.
- Strong attention to detail and an analytical mindset.
- Passion for tea and a commitment to maintaining highquality standards.
- Excellent communication and reporting skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with crossfunctional teams.
