Job Description

This is a remote position.

Job Title: Extrusion Tooling Designer (Polymer Components)

Location: Croatia Remote from Brazil

Work Regime: Fulltime / PJ


Overview / Summary:

We are looking for an experienced Tooling Designer with a background in Mechanical or Polymer Engineering specialized in polymer extrusion for automotive or industrial applications. The role includes the design and development of extrusion tooling 3D/2D modeling in Catia FEM analysis and GD&T application. Responsibilities also involve DFMEA participation BoM and material selection and close collaboration with manufacturing teams. The ideal candidate is familiar with production technologies (extrusion molding finishing) and ensures compliance with relevant standards (IATF ISO OHSAS). Fluency in English is required.


Main Responsibilities:

  • Design and development of extrusion tooling for polymerbased components focusing on crosssection optimization cutting and injection corners.

  • 3D and 2D design using Catia (CatPart and Surface Design modules; 3dA for 2D in space).

  • Prepare detailed technical documentation and 2D drawings tailored to customer specifications.

  • Apply GD&T principles and ensure compliance with OEM manufacturing standards and requirements.

  • Perform FEM analysis 2D and 3D static and thermal) with a focus on TPV extrusion.

  • Contribute to DFMEA preparation and costeffective design strategies Design to Cost .

  • Collaborate in the definition of BoM (Bill of Materials) and material selection (basic and auxiliary).

  • Interface with extrusion molding and finishing processes and technologies (F2F TLM SBM).

  • Analyze and solve typical manufacturing defects ensuring process robustness.

  • Ensure tooling and product compliance with IATF 16949 ISO 14001 ISO 27001 and OHSAS 18001 standards.

  • Degree or technical background in Mechanical Engineering Polymer Engineering or similar.

  • Proven experience in tooling design for polymer extrusion (preferably in automotive or industrial applications).

  • Proficiency in 3D design software (preferably Catia).

  • Solid knowledge of FEM tools and analysis methods.

  • Understanding of production processes involving extrusion molding and finishing.

  • Familiarity with international standards and OEM technical requirements.

  • Strong problemsolving skills and ability to work in multidisciplinary teams.

  • Languages: Portuguese and English (both fluent).
