Job Description

This is a remote position.

Staff Platform Engineer (Remote LATAM)

We re looking for a Staff Platform Engineer who excels in fastpaced environments writes highquality production code and can lead key infrastructure and backend initiatives that scale with growth.


In this role you will:
  • Architect and scale performant backend services using Python/Django and PostgreSQL

  • Design build and optimize APIs and SFTP integrations with external partners in fintech and payments

  • Own database performance: indexing sharding partitioning and query optimization

  • Lead infrastructure efforts on AWS and Kubernetes (EKS) using Terraform Helm and GitHub Actions

  • Improve CI/CD pipelines developer tooling and internal build processes

  • Establish and maintain observability practices using tools like Prometheus Loki Sentry and DataDog

  • Champion backend engineering best practices and guide technical decisions across the platform

  • Mentor teammates and provide technical leadership

  • Respond to production issues participate in oncall rotations and strengthen system resilience

  • Identify and implement tools such as Redis DynamoDB or ElasticSearch to improve scalability and performance

  • Contribute to backend product development this is a handson engineering role not a pure SRE position


Requirements:
  • 5 15 years of backend engineering experience preferably in highgrowth SaaS or startup environments

  • Deep knowledge of Python/Django PostgreSQL and distributed backend architecture

  • 5 years working with AWS Kubernetes (EKS) Docker and Terraform

  • Demonstrated ability to own and scale technical systems from end to end

  • Proven experience optimizing databases and integrating with thirdparty APIs/SFTP systems

  • History of technical leadership mentoring and introducing new tools or patterns

  • Strong understanding of systems design development workflows CI/CD and observability

  • Handson humble and collaborative this role is for builders who still love to code

  • Comfortable with ambiguity autonomy and a startup pace

  • Must be based in Brazil Peru Chile or Argentina


Bonus Points:
  • Experience in vertical SaaS or fintech platforms

  • Familiarity with Redis DynamoDB ElasticSearch

  • Strong performance tuning and scaling skills

  • Prefer a heavily directed 9to5 environment with minimal ownership

  • Have a misrepresented or unverifiable profile



5 15 years of backend engineering experience, ideally in high-growth SaaS startups Deep proficiency with Python/Django, PostgreSQL, and backend systems architecture 5+ years working with AWS, Kubernetes (EKS), Docker, and Terraform Proven success owning and scaling technical systems end-to-end Experience optimizing databases at scale and shipping robust API/SFTP integrations Track record of technical leadership introducing new tools, patterns, and mentoring others
