130 miles east of Des Moines and 230 miles west of Chicago Cedar Rapids is a city in eastern Iowa. The Cedar Rapids Museum of Art includes many works by native Iowan painter Grant Wood. Evergreen Packaging Equipment is located in the city of Cedar Rapids Iowa with close proximity to Chicago. Initially begun in 1880 to service the dairy industry EPE now manufactures gabletop carton filling machines making Evergreen Packaging a fully vertically integrated carton provider for its customers. EPE has 170 team members and now has 1300 installed machines in over 50 countries.

Responsibilities
Job Description:
**$10000 Sign On Bonus**
The Engineer III (Controls) candidate will complete all phases of control system design and implementation within an appropriate scope of work timeframe and cost structure and will work under the supervision of the Controls Manager. The deliverables from this role include electrical engineering design and documentation programming for logic controllers and visualization interfaces and technical support for key customers.
- For assigned product lines maintain a fully documented and accurate electrical design and electrical controls programs that comply with established Evergreen and industry standards.
- Maintain a cost balance for the electrical design that achieves the lowest base cost with the highest manufacturing efficiency and lowest warranty. This balance should also account for the highest operational efficiency and lowest maintenance requirement.
- Produce electrical design/program changes to support sale orders product improvements change requests and nonconformances for assigned product lines.
- Provide timely complete and consistent technical support to internal and external business customers as required in support of assigned product lines.
- Support the Controls Team to increase output standardization and repeatability of designs and programs through developing and continuously improving engineering tools and work processes.
The Controls Engineer will to complete all phases of the assigned accountabilities to a successful conclusion within the projected scope timeframe and budget. The assigned projects will be completed with minimal oversight from the Controls Manager. Collaboration with fellow Controls and Mechanical engineers is key.
Assignments will typically be with newer and midmarket level models with occasional sale order specials and product extensions. A solid technical knowledge of electrical system design and programing is key for this position where the Controls Engineer is able to handle most assignments at a standard level of technology with minimal oversight.
The Controls Engineer in this position will provide a reasonable amount of support and training for lowerlevel staff and be able to coordinate a portion of their work through others.
Qualifications
Qualifications:
The Controls Engineer in this position will be capable of identifying and creating electrical standards procedures engineering tools and process improvement initiatives with direction from the Controls Manager.
- Degreed Engineer (preferably electrical will consider mechanical or chemical).
- 510 years of professional experience in Rockwell AllenBradley Controls Platforms.
- Design experience with Servo System is desired..
- Proficient with CAD. AutoCad or SolidWorks is preferred.
