Job Description Summary

We are looking for a motivated and detail oriented Senior Data Governance Assocaite to join our Asset Servicing Data Governance Team at Northern Trust . In this role you will assist in developing and implementing data governance frameworks ensuring our data assets are accurate secure and compliant with industry standards. You will work closely with the Global Head of Data Governance to identify and support data governance initiatives help establish data management best practices and contribute to the creation of data policies and procedures. As well as work with cross functional business line teams. The ideal candidate will be a quick learner with strong analytical skills mature knowledge and keen interest in data governance data management and a desire to grow their expertise in a collaborative and fastpaced environment. They will also be required to be an evangelist for Data Governance and the Asset Servicing Business line across the enterprise and work with internal and external consumers and stakeholders.

Hiring Requirements

Major Duties :

1. Develop tools and processes used to maintain a common data standard across the organization.

2. Assess manage maintain strategies that reduce data redundancy and increases the consistency / confidence of data used for decision making; improving knowledge firmwide.

3. Define and deliver data management standards processes and controls and content for the creation and maintenance of common data dictionaries.

4. Participates in periodic reviews to ensure continued compliance with the data governance policies (includes compliance assessments monitoring and control testing).

5. Resolves conflicting priorities among data owners data consumers and custodians within sphere of the domain.

6. Drive efficiency and risk mitigation through balancing business value and cost working with data owners and consumers to deliver an efficient operating model and data architecture.

7. Collaborates with partners across the organization in maintaining the data governance and data quality structures ensuring we are meeting business needs while balancing quality risk and cost.

8. Coordinate and implement data quality remediation efforts to ensure data meets the standards identified by the enterprise.

9. Experienced functional expert with technical and/or business knowledge and functional expertise

10. Carries out complex initiatives involving multiple disciplines and/or ambiguous issues

11. Displays a balanced crossfunctional perspective liaising with the business to help improve efficiency effectiveness and productivity

12. Strategic in developing implementing and administering programs within functional areas

13. Provides leadership and guidance to staff fostering an environment that encourages employee participation teamwork and communication

Knowledge :

  • Strong Data Governance Tooling experience preferably Collibra
  • Knowledge of the Financial Service sector and understating of how different business lines work together
  • Strong understanding and capable of effectively communicating the role of Data Governance to both business and technical communities within the sphere of data domain; possess broad knowledge of the domain data
  • Understand key business drivers of those functions which enter modify manage and consume the data within domain
  • Understand all aspects of defining and implementing data quality management
  • Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Possess proven facilitation and conflict resolution skills
  • Possess exceptional analytical conceptual and problemsolving abilities

Salary Range:

$USD

Salary range is a good faith estimate of base pay. Northern Trust provides a comprehensive benefits package including retirement benefits 401k and pension) health and welfare benefits (medical dental vision spending accounts and disability) paid time off parental and caregiver leave life & accident insurance and other voluntary and wellbeing benefits. Northern Trust also provides a discretionary bonus program that may include an equity component.
