Job Description

Description

To instruct the Natural Resource Science course NRSC 4130 Fire Ecology and Management for the 2025 winter semester. One 2 hour lab per week and all associated marking (lab assignments etc..

One position for 2 credits (lab lead).

One position for 1.5 credits (support).



Requirements

A MSc in environmental science (or related area) is preferred but a BSc with strong field/operational experience would be considered. Past teaching experience would be considered an asset. The candidate requires:

  • A clear understanding of the FWI and FBP Systems and how these are used in Canadian fire management
  • Experience with using Behave (Forest Fire Behaviour System) for fire modelling
  • An understanding of basic fire ecology along with general fire management
  • Work experience in fire at a field/operational level
